Today I turned a request into work to cut my hours to just 30 hours a week which I will spread over 3 days in the office plus a few extra hours from home on the other two.
By doing this, along with a lot of help from my mom and Meg I’m going to be able to take Jack out of day care, which thrills me to no end.
Don’t get me wrong, here! He was doing well in daycare. His teachers are so nice and they obviously care a lot about the kids and that is not at all why I wanted to get him out of it. Unfortunately after just 2 weeks of daycare he has already developed his first double ear infection. Fortunately we caught it early so it was minor and he didn’t suffer too much discomfort, just a lot of sleepiness and a few days of fever. And our pediatrician told us that 3 months is actually pretty early for an ear infection and since Nate had a lot of ear infections as a kid, then Jack may actually be genetically predisposed to getting ear infections when he gets colds and we really couldn’t bear the thought of that.
So! I get to spend 2 week days at home with Jack and really I’m beyond thrilled about it and I’m so glad that my job is able to be flexible with my time.
