Last night Jack ate his final meal at 11:30, fell asleep immediately after and did not wake up until 6:30 this morning. It was a damn miracle!
Too bad he also spent most of his night fighting the swaddle (and he eventually won, freeing one arm), which involved grunting and squirming heard on the monitor. It started around 2:30am and I was seriously bummed that he only slept for 2.5 hours when normally he sleeps about 3.5-4 so I trudged into the nursery to get him. Only he wasn’t awake.
So the noise died down and I went back to sleep.
Repeat at 3:40 and 4:20 (except for the part where I was able to fall back to sleep in between). Then when Nate’s alarm went off at 5:30 I asked him to make sure the baby noises were still asleep baby noises, and I asked him to check again at 6:15 when he finished getting ready for work and was going to eat breakfast.
Then at 6:20 I heard the undeniable sound of a pissed off and hungry baby so I hauled myself back out of bed… but seriously, if I could have slept that whole time he slept… the thought of sleeping more than 3-4 hours in a row is really just such a strange concept right now. As someone who used to sleep 10-11 hours at night on a weekend I can’t believe how excited 6 possible hours in a row makes me!
