Book Store Jackpot!

Yesterday I realized that Grave Secret by Charlaine Harris had been released. The author’s website had it coming out in November 2009 so I was really surprised when I logged into Amazon to look for something else (I don’t even remember what) and saw that there was no longer a “pre order” option for the book, like it had actually been released! I started thinking it could have been out for like a week for something and how could I have not noticed before and OMG I was missing out!!! But fortunately it was just released yesterday so picking it up on my way home worked out well. And also I think the release date was originally October, and got moved to November, and then got moved back to October and I had just forgotten about it, but really it doesn’t matter why it happened. So that was exciting all on its own.

Then when I went to the book store to pick it up I saw a really big display for The Gathering Storm which I knew was coming eventually but hadn’t actually seen a release date for, so that was like super bonus! (Incidentally, I did look it up and it was just released yesterday, so that was just darn good luck!) I’m a little nervous to start this one because the other books are SO LONG and it feels like I read them SO LONG AGO that I’m afraid I won’t be able to remember what’s going on. I’m hoping that once I get started it will all come back to me because I don’t think there’s any way I can start over and get through them all again before The Baby comes and begins demanding I actually take care of him instead of just carrying him around all the time. Bummer, I know.

And also I’d really rather not talk about how much I could have saved if I had ordered the books off Amazon over buying them at Borders on my way home, because the part where I don’t have to wait for them to be shipped is SO WORTH IT that I’m going to pretend it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

And I know I could also wait like 3 years for either of these to become available at my local library but I’m not patient enough to be number 218 in line for Grave Secret or number 75 for the Gathering Storm, which frankly I can’t believe doesn’t have a higher wait associated with it, but whatever.

Anyways, I may have just lost all of that extra motivation I was talking about yesterday, because if you need me I’ll be parked on the sofa with my nose in a book for the next 3 months judging by the length of the Gathering Storm!
