A Conversation from Last Night

While we were getting ready for bed last night the TV was on for the baseball game and a commercial came on.

Nate: Do you know this song?
Me: *listens for a minute, then starts singing along* Check ignition and may God’s love be with you…
Nate: …
Me: What?
Nate: You actually know that song?
Me: Uh, yeah.
Nate: …

Aside from the part where I was then very sad to hear a David Bowie song in a commercial it was sort of fun to throw Nate off like that.

He had no idea what the song was. He had no idea I would know what it was. He assumed I would not know what it was and I’m sure he was going to try to find a way to tease me about it because I always like those songs for the iPods and whatever other types of computers with the women and wispy sort of songs. I’m not even sure how to describe them except to say that after that iPod song by Faust I went and downloaded the album on iTunes. Not bad, not my favorite album though.

My singing along totally derailed his train of thought.

But don’t worry; I’ll spare you my thoughts on hearing the song in a freaking car commercial.

And speaking of David Bowie (sort of), is anyone else watching Life on Mars? I caught about 10 minutes of it the other day and decided to tape it. I watched the tape and decided to catch up online. I’m not at all surprised that I really like it and I hope it gets picked up!
