So today at the grocery store we decided to buy a brownie mix. When we got home Nate went outside to rake the front yard and I stayed in to make the brownies.
Making brownies is not hard. I mean it’s a box with some water, some oil and a couple of eggs. Hard to mess up, right?
Yeah, I thought so too. Until I was mixing the ingredients and I read the part on the box where it said “smooth into pan” and I thought “smooth into pan? there will be no smoothing, it’s too soupy” and then I had a thought. I mean wow it was really soupy! So I rechecked the ingredients and saw that it took one fourth cup of water.
Not one cup of water. One fourth cup.
So I did the only thing I could think of.
I opened a box of chocolate cake mix I had and started adding to the mixture until it was the consistancy I thought a brownie mix would be.
Fortunately it came out mostly alright. A little fluffier than brownies should be, but still tasty.
So then I did the only other thing I could think of.
I made a fluffy chocolate icing to go with it, because what is a brownie-cake without it?!
Oh, and also apparently my oven rack tilts towards the front.
