It’s All in My Head

I’m talking about the majority of things that medically ail me, and I mean that literally, not figuratively. Although maybe a little figuratively too. Whatever.

Yesterday I noticed the vertigo was back. It wasn’t back in a big way, but it’s annoying none the less. It means I have to be extra careful not to offset the balance. (The oh-so-delicate-move-wrong-and-you’re-stuck-in-bed kind of balance). As long as I don’t overdo it I think I can remain mostly normal and unaffected. I mean sure this morning when the alarm went off and I sat up I thought I was going to fall off the bed, but I managed to remember not to flip my head up after putting my hair up in a towel this morning, so that has to count for something!

I also had a really bad headache yesterday although since it went away after I took 3 ibuprofen and hasn’t come back I’m not sure if I’d call it a migraine or just a headache. Or maybe it’s related to my vertigo somehow. I’m pretty sure my vertigo is related to my congestion and I have no freakin’ clue where the congestion came from because it’s September, people. It is nowhere near cold and flu season sinus infection season.

So this morning I took an ibuprofen and a sudafed. It helped a little bit, but only a little bit. Now I think I have figured it out. Sort of. I think heat makes it worse. I think physical activity makes it worse. Sometimes, I think breathing makes it worse. After sitting on the sofa for like 2 hours watching Season 2 of Dead Like Me I felt pretty good and thought I’d get cracking on my Monday List. I made it through scooping the litterbox, taking out the trash, moving the clothes to the drier and wiping the counter with a clorox cloth before I started feeling nauseous again. Extra awesome!

So now I’m back on the sofa. Watching Dead Like Me. Better luck tomorrow!

I have way bad allergies this time of year. Major conjestion, sinus head aches, but no other symptoms like achy or sore throat.

I finally broke down and went and got some claritin D during my planning period today, it helped a lot.

Welcome to club allergy! My congestion was kind enough to go into the sinus infection. LOVIN it! I know you don’t want to hear this, but cutting way back on the caffeine will help the headaches and the vertigo. I’m not sure why, but three different doctors have told me that and it does seem to work. Don’t go cold turkey though. I feel your pain…no really! Oh, did you see DLM’s creator Bryan Fuller’s new show Pushing Daisies, debuts soon on ABC?
