Kitty Vet Trip

Today was the cat’s yearly vet trip. It was actually the first vet trip that cost less than I had budgeted. That never happens.

On the other hand, Tili has gingivitis. Again.

That’s right. The cat that had dental work in Feb has gingivitis again after 6 months and might need dental work AGAIN next year. It’s unreal. I’ve been putting the sealant on her teeth and giving her the treated water and dental treats and I’ll admit I’ve been lax in the teethbrushing, but that’s mostly because of all the other extras I’ve been doing. So I’ll definitely step up the toothbrushing and hopefully that’ll help. The vet said maybe she’ll just be “one of those cats” who needs dental work every year.

On the other hand, since I had to sedate her for the vet trip and now she’s drugged and HAPPY and she loooves everyone. She’s jumped onto and off of my lap like 5 times in the last 30 minutes. The drugs make her groggy but they also make her more affectionate and unfortunately more active. Freak.

And now I have to put the laptop down because the pitiful cat on the floor is staring at my lap.

I remember when you had to take her before because it was right around the time I first started reading your blog. I commented to you that my cat Zoe had her teeth cleaned and extractions around the same time Tili did – Expensive!!! I hope Tili and Zoe won’t have to go through that again for a while. Zoe was not a happy camper. I have to do the teeth brushing too now. Good times.

Funny Dog/Cat story: since your into animals like I am –

Zoe had her first interaction with a dog this weekend. She is strictly an indoor cat. BFF came over with her very docile English Bulldog and we decided to see how they would mix. It was the funniest thing ever. My Zoe (who despises other cats) was totally in love. She rubbed up against him, got right up in his face and basically flirted with him. I was like “wrong breed Zoe”. The Bull Dog was looking at her like *whatever* but he was really patient with her. Then they played for a little while. BFF and I just sat there and laughed and laughed. It was great.
