Killing Time

So I’m trying to kill a little time before my dentist appointment. The appointment is not until 8 and it only takes about 10 minutes to get there.. and MAN there is nothing on TV this early in the morning. When I say “nothing” that means I am completely ignoring Today, Good Morning America, and the Early Show. Mostly I just can’t get into them. I’m looking for something with very little substance to just barely hold my interest. I would hate to actually be distracted from this dental anxiety I’m working up.

So instead, I’m going to tell you all about how I spent almost FOUR HOURS at the salon on Thursday. I decided to lighten my hair for the summer and let me tell you, it was quite the process! I arrived at 2:30 and Meg put the color stripper on my hair. Since it was so dark we needed to strip the color before we could put anything else on there. After about 20-30 minutes that was washed out. Then my hair was blow dried and Meg put the highlights in. Then I had to sit for another 20 minutes or so, and of course, another shampoo. By then Meg’s next client had come in (4pm) so I sat under the drier for a few minute until one of Meg’s collegues took pity on me and dried my hair (AGAIN!) and put the toner on it. By then I seriously could not wait to get out of there, and I’m sure Meg couldn’t wait to get rid of me. Between her clients she rinsed my hair (cleanest hair ever) and then sent me over to someone else’s station to dry it myself. Because she had another client but woudln’t let me leave until she saw the finished product. By the time it was dry and I was leaving it was 6:10. HOLY CRAP it was a long time but I think it turned out really well! (I also had it cut but that was the week before).

So that’s not the best picture in the world of my new hair, but I promise it’s lighter and it looks awesome!
