Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I just wanted to share with you guys my favorite Irish Blessing. And my husband’s plans for today. First things first..

May those who love us love us.
And those who don’t
May God turn their hearts
And if he can’t turn their hearts
May he turn their ankles
So we’ll know them by their limping.

Second thing, somehow my husband and his friends have decided that St. Patrick’s Day is a day for new tattoos. So he and a friend (or two, depending) will go to Warlock’s today to get new tattoos.

Which leads me to a “group participation” question. How do you guys feel about tattoos? Do you have any? Do you like them? Hate them? Does your siginifigant other have any? If they told you they were getting a new one (and they already had several) would you freak out? (My friends, the wives of his friends, sort of freaked out at the thought of their men getting new tats, even though both men already have a few).

Personally, I have one, my sister has several and Nate has nine and really if he wants to get more then so be it. I would get another one but there are limited places that I would be willing to have it because I would want to be able to cover it for certain (formal) occasions. Anyways, your thoughts?

  1. I don’t have any, but its mainly because I just haven’t thought of anything that I want to last with me forever. If I can ever come across an original thought of my own and not some ridiculously generic design that you see on the back of every sorority girl, then yeah I’ll get one. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them.

  2. I don’t have any and neither does David. Many people in his family all got the same tattoo as a sort of family bonding thing, so he might get that sometime. Like Dave said up there, I could never come up with something for myself that I could live with forever. I am too fickle! I don’t think I’d freak out if David wanted one/had some and wanted more. There are bigger things to freak over…like say, if he bought a car without telling me. 🙂

  3. I’m with Dave & Dotty…there’s nothing I can think of that I like enough to have permanently marked on my body. I don’t mind tattoos…a lot of my family members have them. I think they look pretty sweet. I can’t imagine if I were married (nope, not one bit) and my hubby wanted to get one that I’d spaz out. Unless it was say, the name of his admin assistant, yeah, then there would be a reason to get upset…….
